About this tool

Meme Generator

Start with a photo from your device, paste an image from the clipboard or use the original smiley demo. The classic layout puts captions over the picture. Caption above image adds a white band so your joke does not cover the photo. Everything is rendered in your browser; your image is not sent to a server.

Use top and bottom captions or add up to eight text boxes. Each box has its own font, size, alignment, text colour, outline colour and outline width. Turn uppercase off for mixed-case captions. Drag text on the preview with a mouse or touch, use the position sliders, or focus the preview and move the selected text with the arrow keys. Undo and redo let you experiment without starting again.

Download a static PNG for crisp text or a JPG for easy sharing. Large photos are resized to a maximum side of 1600 pixels before editing; the caption-above layout adds extra height. Images must be at least 64 by 64 pixels and are limited to 25 MB and 50 megapixels. Animated inputs are treated as a still image; this tool does not export GIFs or videos. Use your own images or images you have permission to edit.

Choose an image and keep Classic overlay selected. Select Text 1 to edit the top caption and Text 2 for the bottom caption. Drag either caption to reposition it, or open Text position for sliders. Download PNG or JPG when the preview looks right.

Choose Caption above image in Layout. The editor adds a white band and changes the first caption to dark text without an outline. Edit that caption and use Text position if you need to move it. Other text boxes stay editable.

PNG preserves sharp text and edges without lossy compression. JPG can make a smaller photo-based file, but may add artifacts around letters. Both exports include your captions; neither includes editor controls or a watermark.

Yes. Open the tool in a modern mobile browser, choose a photo and edit the captions below the preview. Touch-drag text or use the position sliders, then download the image.

No. Your PNG or JPG download includes only your image and captions. No account is required.

No. Photos are decoded, edited and exported on your device inside your browser.

You can type or paste Unicode text, including Hindi. Appearance depends on fonts available on your device. Arial is a useful starting point; check the preview and downloaded result. Emoji artwork can vary between devices.

This version creates static images. An animated input becomes a still image, and downloads are PNG or JPG, not animated GIF or video.

The built-in smiley demo is original artwork. Upload your own template image or one you have permission to use; a library of third-party meme images is not included.
