About this tool

Watermark Remover

Brush over the watermark (or draw a box around it) and only the watermark itself is removed. The photo between and around the letters stays exactly as it was, see-through watermarks are un-blended so the real detail underneath comes back, and solid parts are rebuilt with a content-aware fill from the surrounding texture, so sky, walls, skin and fabric continue naturally instead of turning into a smudge.

Use it to remove a date stamp from an old camera photo, a username or logo from your own picture, an emoji or a stray word of text. To erase a whole object — a person in the background, a sticker, a bin — choose Object (AI): a small AI model (MI-GAN, downloaded once, about 28 MB) redraws the area on your device. Zoom in for small details, undo any step, and hold the compare button to see the original.

Everything runs on your device, so your photos are never uploaded. Please only remove watermarks from images you own or have permission to edit — watermarks on stock photos and other people's work protect their copyright.

When you upload a photo it looks for a watermark automatically: a see-through watermark mixes the photo with one colour at one opacity, so thousands of its edges agree on the same values while the photo's own edges don't. Then it rebuilds that area with a content-aware fill (PatchMatch inpainting) to estimate what's behind the watermark. Comparing that with your photo shows exactly which pixels belong to the watermark, its colour and how see-through it is. Pixels that aren't part of the watermark are left untouched, see-through ones are un-blended to recover the real photo, and only solid parts use the rebuilt background.

It works best on text, date stamps, logos and small objects over fairly even backgrounds such as sky, walls, skin, grass, water or fabric. Large watermarks over detailed areas like faces or busy patterns may need a few smaller passes, and some traces can remain.

It's fine on your own photos and on images you have permission to edit, for example to remove a date stamp, your own logo or an old username. Removing a watermark from someone else's work, such as stock photos, to use it without permission can break copyright law, so please don't.

Yes. Choose Object (AI), paint over the object and press Remove. An AI inpainting model (MI-GAN) redraws the area so roads, horizons and walls continue through it. The model is downloaded once (about 28 MB) and runs on your device, so the photo still isn't uploaded.

Use Watermark / text for watermarks: then only the watermark's own pixels change and the photo under see-through text is recovered. Object (AI) redraws everything you select, which is what you want for objects but not for a see-through watermark.

No. Only the area you select is changed; every other pixel stays exactly as it was, at the original resolution. Download as PNG for a lossless file or JPG at high quality for a smaller one.

No. Everything is processed in your browser on your own phone or computer, so your photos and documents never leave your device.
