Photo Resizer for Exams

Online application forms reject photos that are a few KB too big or too small, or the wrong width and height. This tool makes a JPG that fits the rules exactly: type the size range and dimensions from your notification, upload the photo, and download a file that is ready to submit.

It starts with the most common rule, a 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm passport-size photo between 20 and 50 KB, and a signature between 10 and 20 KB. For exams with their own rules, open the dedicated page below. Each one is set up with that exam's sizes.

The best possible quality is used for the size limit, so your face stays sharp. If a file is below the minimum size, it is padded so the portal accepts it. Everything runs in your browser, so your photo is never uploaded.

How to resize your photo and signature

    Choose the tab for the photo and signature you need. The required size is shown above the upload box.

    Upload your image

    Choose a photo from your phone or computer, drag it in, or paste it. JPG, PNG and WebP all work.

    Adjust the framing

    Crop to fill the exact size and move the position slider, or add a white border to keep the whole image.

    Download the JPG

    Check that the size, dimensions and format are all ticked, then download the file and upload it to the form.

The Photo tab is already set to 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm: it makes a 276 × 354 pixel JPG and saves 200 DPI in the file, so it measures exactly 3.5 × 4.5 cm. For another size in cm, click Change and type the size in pixels: at 200 DPI, 1 cm is about 79 pixels (for example, 5 cm × 5 cm is 394 × 394 pixels).

Upload the photo on the Photo tab. The tool is already set to 20–50 KB and 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm. It picks the best quality inside that range, and the file size is shown with a green tick when it fits. Then download the JPG.

A signature on white paper is often only a few KB even at the best quality. The tool first uses the highest quality, and if the file is still below the minimum it adds invisible padding data to the JPG, so the portal accepts it. The picture itself does not change.

Click Change above the upload box and type the size range and dimensions from your notification. The tool then makes a JPG that meets those numbers instead. Always check the latest official notification before you upload, because rules can change between years.
