Staff Selection Commission forms usually ask for a recent colour photo of about 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm between 20 and 50 KB, and a signature of about 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm between 10 and 20 KB, both as JPG files. This page is set up with those sizes, so you only need to upload and download.

The same rules are used across most SSC exams, including CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, CPO and Stenographer. Some recent SSC applications capture a live photo with your camera instead of asking for an upload. In that case you only need the signature here.

Check the size rules in your exam's notification before submitting. If they differ, click Change and enter the new numbers.

How to resize your SSC photo and signature

Recent SSC notifications ask for a colour photo of about 3.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm high, in JPG format, between 20 KB and 50 KB. The photo should be recent, with a plain light background and your face clearly visible.

The signature is usually required as a JPG of about 4.0 cm × 2.0 cm between 10 KB and 20 KB. Sign in black or blue ink on white paper, take a clear photo, and upload it on the Signature tab.

A signature on white paper is often only a few KB even at the best quality. The tool first uses the highest quality, and if the file is still below the minimum it adds invisible padding data to the JPG, so the portal accepts it. The picture itself does not change.

Click Change above the upload box and type the size range and dimensions from your notification. The tool then makes a JPG that meets those numbers instead. Always check the latest official notification before you upload, because rules can change between years.
