About this tool

Driving Licence Photo Resizer

Learner's licence and driving licence applications on the Parivahan Sarathi portal ask for a photo of 420 × 525 pixels and a signature of 256 × 64 pixels, each as a JPG between 10 and 20 KB.

This page makes both. Photos from a phone are cropped to the right shape and compressed into the KB range, and a small signature is padded up to the minimum size if needed.

Some states ask for the photo to be taken at the RTO instead. Check the instructions on the portal for your state before you upload.

  • Photo 420 × 525 px

JPG between 10 and 20 KB.

  • Signature 256 × 64 px

JPG between 10 and 20 KB.

  • Hits the minimum too

Files below 10 KB are padded so the portal accepts them.

  • Private

Your photo and signature never leave your device.

The photo must be 420 × 525 pixels, as a JPG between 10 and 20 KB. The Photo tab makes exactly that.

256 × 64 pixels, as a JPG between 10 and 20 KB. Sign in black ink on plain white paper, take a photo, and the Signature tab crops and sizes it.

A signature on white paper is often only a few KB even at the best quality. The tool first uses the highest quality, and if the file is still below the minimum it adds invisible padding data to the JPG, so the portal accepts it. The picture itself does not change.

Photo: 420 × 525 px (width × height), 10–20 KB; Signature: 256 × 64 px (width × height), 10–20 KB. This page also works as a photo size reducer: any photo is cropped and compressed to these numbers.

Yes. Choose "Check one I have" above the upload box and upload the file. It tests the format, the size in KB, the pixel dimensions and the saved DPI exactly as the form will see them, and if anything is wrong, Fix it automatically makes a version that passes.

Click Change above the upload box and type the size range and dimensions from your notification. The tool then makes a JPG that meets those numbers instead. Always check the latest official notification before you upload, because rules can change between years.

No. The photo is resized and compressed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. It is never uploaded to our servers, so your photo, signature and ID documents stay private.
