1. The file size is outside the KB range
Every form sets a minimum and a maximum file size, for example 20–50 KB. A photo straight from your phone is usually 2–5 MB, far too big, while a plain signature can be too small. Use the resizer for your exam, or a Compress image to N KB page, to land inside the range. If a signature is below the minimum, the Increase Image Size in KB tool adds harmless padding to reach it.
2. The dimensions are wrong
Forms often ask for an exact size such as 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm or 200 × 230 pixels. A photo with the right KB size but the wrong shape is still rejected. The exam resizers crop to the exact dimensions for you.
3. The format isn't JPG
Most portals accept only JPG (JPEG). iPhone photos are often HEIC, and screenshots are PNG. Convert them first: the exam resizers always save a JPG, and HEIC to JPG converts iPhone photos.
4. The background is dark, busy or coloured
Use a plain white or light background. If you only have a photo with a busy background, the Background Remover can replace it with plain white.
5. The face is too small, cut off or not centred
Your face should fill most of the frame, with the top of your head and your shoulders visible. Use the framing slider on the resizer to centre it.
6. The photo is blurry or too dark
Take the photo in good daylight, hold the phone still and tap the screen to focus on your face. Start from the original photo, not one that was already compressed or forwarded on WhatsApp.
7. Cap, sunglasses, filters or an old photo
Most notifications ask for a recent photo without a cap or dark glasses, and without beauty filters or heavy editing. Some forms reject photos older than a few months.
8. The signature is unclear or in the wrong place
Sign in black or blue ink on plain white paper, take a sharp photo from directly above, and crop close to the signature. Upload it on the signature field, not the photo field.
9. The name and date are missing (when required)
Some forms ask for your name and the date the photo was taken printed below it. Add Name & Date on Photo adds them in a clean strip under the photo.
Frequently asked questions
- Why does the form say my photo is too large?
- Phone photos are several MB, while forms usually allow only 20–200 KB. Compress the photo to the range in your notification with the resizer for your exam.
- Why is my signature rejected for being too small?
- A signature on white paper compresses to very few KB. Use the Signature Resizer or Increase Image Size in KB, which adds invisible padding to reach the minimum without changing the picture.
- Can I fix a rejected photo without taking a new one?
- Usually yes, if the problem is the size, dimensions, format or background. Retake it if the photo is blurry, too dark, old, or your face is cut off.
