About this tool

Aadhaar Photo & Document Resizer

When you update your address on the myAadhaar portal, you upload a scan or photo of a proof document, such as a passport, bank passbook or electricity bill, as a JPG, PNG or PDF of up to 2 MB. Phone photos are often bigger than that, so the upload fails.

The Document tab shrinks the picture under 2 MB while keeping it sharp enough to read. The Passport photo tab makes a 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm photo for scholarship, job and bank forms that ask for a photo along with your Aadhaar details.

The photo printed on your Aadhaar card (often written Aadhar) can't be changed online: UIDAI takes it at an Aadhaar enrolment or update centre. This page is for the documents and Aadhar size photos that other forms ask for.

  • Document under 2 MB

Readable JPG of your proof document, under the myAadhaar limit.

  • Passport-size photo

    3.5 × 4.5 cm at 200 DPI, under 50 KB.

  • Crop or keep it whole

Fill the frame, or add a white border so nothing is cut off.

  • Private

Your Aadhaar documents never leave your device.

The myAadhaar portal accepts a JPG, PNG or PDF of up to 2 MB for each proof document. The Document tab makes a JPG under 2 MB that stays readable.

No. UIDAI only updates the Aadhaar photo at an enrolment or update centre, where it is taken with their camera. You don't need to upload one.

Passport photo: 276 × 354 px (width × height), which is 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm, under 50 KB. This page also works as a photo size reducer: any photo is cropped and compressed to these numbers.

Yes. Choose "Check one I have" above the upload box and upload the file. It tests the format, the size in KB, the pixel dimensions and the saved DPI exactly as the form will see them, and if anything is wrong, Fix it automatically makes a version that passes.

Click Change above the upload box and type the size range and dimensions from your notification. The tool then makes a JPG that meets those numbers instead. Always check the latest official notification before you upload, because rules can change between years.

No. The photo is resized and compressed inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. It is never uploaded to our servers, so your photo, signature and ID documents stay private.
